A366 Update

April 13, 2020

Dear Member,

At this year’s symposium I had the privilege of updating everyone during the classes that you all took and I wanted to give you all an update since our symposium.

Pete Raymond, Joe Cioffi and Gerry Duffy have not stopped their constant barrage on legislators and representatives trying to get across our opinions of how poorly the bill was written and more importantly how irresponsibly and recklessly the regulations that accompany A366 were written and how bad the impact these regulations would be on our members.

We have been actively been pursuing the creation of the required apprenticeship program by putting together a committee of which I am honored to be the chairman of to assure that our program meets the Federal Department of Labor’s requirements. The most recent stumbling block is of course the unfortunate timing of the Covid-19 pandemic. Most of the government offices that we need to speak with regarding the implementation of the apprenticeship program and the formation and implementation of the ERISA pension plan are closed for the foreseeable future.

As soon as we have more information we will be passing at along through the NJELSA website.

I wish you all good health and please stay safe.

Sincerely,

Brian Arenofsky
Vice President Central Region
Apprenticeship Program Committee Chairman
