Annual Golf Outing

Our 4th Annual Golf Outing

Fear of a torrential rain that would dampen and call off the day were dismissed as the sun shone for about 80 golfers at the NJESA 4th Annual Golf Outing.

Held at the Old York Country Club in Chesterfield, it was much more than a day for golf. In addition to lunch and dinner, a cigar roller provided complimentary hand rolled cigars to all attendees. There were also two beverage carts with complimentary beer, soft drinks, and snacks was on the course as well as a one-hour open bar / cocktail reception before dinner.

We raffled off a weekend for two for two nights at Caesars in Atlantic City with $260 for food and beverages. In addition, we held a 50/50 raffle. The proceeds went to the Scholarship fund.

Speaking of the scholarship, Scholarship recipients and their fathers were in attendance to read their winning essays and accept their award at the dinner reception.

Jacob Fritz, selected as the first-place winner, received a $1,500 check from the association. His father, Jonathan Fritz, is a staff sergeant with the NJ State Police at the NJSP Cartaret Station.

Andrew Griffin, who was chosen as the second-place winner of the award received a check for $1,000. His father, Brian Griffin, is a firefighter with the Bloomfield Fire Department.
