Guest Speaker: Robert Shoremount

Robert Shoremount is a long-time, active supporter of the NJELSA, having served as a Board Member, representative to the national ESA, and former President of the NJELSA. He also ran a successful alarm company in New Jersey for many years. Currently, he owns and operates Strandberg Consulting, a company focusing on providing educational and other services to professional alarm dealers, electricians, locksmiths, and other services to professional alarm dealers, electricians, locksmiths, and other allied trades.

Topic: NJ Bill S2419

A law that was signed by Gov Murphy earlier this year, S2419, concerns the regulation of installation, maintenance, and repair of perimeter fence intrusion protection systems, other alarm systems, and locksmithing services. The law also makes changes to some of the definitions used in the law and rules. The committee is currently writing regulations based on the statute. This new law presents an opportunity for alarm companies and locksmiths to expand their offerings.
