This five hour seminar will cover all of the significant changes as a result of the 2018 International Code Adoptions in New Jersey. The 2018 Building, Residential and Mechanical Codes, 2017 National Electrical Code, 2016 National Fire Alarm Code and 2015 Carbon Monoxide Standard will be reviewed including commercial and residential fire alarm systems, security and access control, sprinkler supervision, integrated testing, wiring, survivability, mass notification and voice systems, supervising station monitoring, fire command centers and emergency responder radio systems. This is an all-encompassing seminar designed specifically for the electronic life safety industry.

NJELSA in partnership with ESA/NTS is now offering the virtual equivalent of live classroom training. These classes will help develop your staff’s expertise in intrusion, fire, service, networking, video surveillance, access control and more. Types of Training Courses

ONLINE “CORE” COURSES – are online versions of many of the ESA/NTS’s most popular courses. They offer the student the flexibility of taking the courses at times convenient to their schedule.

ONLINE CEU COURSES – are online courses designed to aid students in obtaining continuing education credits for the renewal of many industry certifications and licenses.  These courses are shorter in duration (typically only an hour or so), and also ideal for internal company use for training employees on new and expanding technologies, or just updating your staffs knowledge on various topics. 

Many of these courses are approved for NJ CEUs!

NJELSA Members receive a “Training Discount” on ESA NTS Online Courses. 

NJ members will need to put in their NJ specific coupon code (NJ-ESA-2020) in order to get the member rate. It is through this code that we verify membership and members receive the discount.

Required Training Classes
All NJESA classes have been approved by the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs – Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmith Advisory Committee for credits of continuing education.

All New Jersey alarm dealers and installers are required to be licensed and renewed every three years.  For more information on renewal and new applicant CEU requirements, click here.

December Training Class Review

Our December training class, held on the 4th from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm at the ADI branch in Marlton was well attended. Course instructor John Drucker  offered four classes that provided members with 7 credits.

The courses included NJ Uniform Fire Code – 2015 IFC/NJ Update Primer; Strobes – Understanding Visual Notification: Supervising Station and Code Requirements; and Methods to Reduce False and Nuisance Fire Alarms.

Lunch was provided by the NJESA. Thanks again to ADI for sponsoring the training.
