About the NJELSA
The New Jersey Electronic Life Safety Association (NJELSA) represents electronic security professionals, system integrators, fire alarm companies, manufacturers and distributors that do business in New Jersey. By joining the NJELSA, you’ll open the pathway to being licensed – a legal requirement in NJ for alarm installers. Plus, when you become a member, you’ll enjoy many more benefits. Our professional code of conduct benefits consumers who rely upon security systems for their personal safety, the safety of their homes and families, businesses and communities. In addition, the NJELSA promotes public safety and fosters positive relationships with police, fire and elected officials at the local, state and national level.

The New Jersey Electronic Life Saf ety Association (NJELSA) is pleased to announce the availability of college scholarship awards to sons and daughters of active-duty police and fire personnel.
This scholarship award is a small way for our industry to say thanks to our very dedicated public safety community and to help pay for an advanced education for deserving students.
The scholarship awards, in the amounts of $2,000 for first prize and $1,500 for second prize, are available to qualified high school seniors.
Awards are based on a combination of academic achievement, national test scores, extracurricular participation and the essay. In addition to completing the application and submitting the appropriate documentation, each student must write an essay explaining “What it means to me to have my parent or guardian involved in securing our community.
Deadline to submit an online application is March 20, 2020

Law A-3666 Opposition and Public Hearing Update
Huge Turnout at Public Hearing to Oppose Proposed Rules and Regulations for the New Public Works Contractor Registration Law
Even though the public hearing was held two days before the July 4th Independence Day holiday, thanks to the NJ ESA´s efforts, along with the support of the AFAA of NJ and the New Jersey chapter of NAFED, approximately 200 people from various industries attended the July 2 public hearing.
The public hearing, held by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, focused on the proposed new rules / regulations for Public Works Contractor Registration, due to the passage A-3666 / S-3071 earlier this year.
